History of the Brand Under Armour
Under Armour was founded in 1996 by Kevin Plank, He first began the business in his grandmotherâs basement. Plank was a fullback at the University of Maryland, he got tired of having to change out sweat soaked T-shirts, but he noticed that his compression shorts stayed dry. This inspired him to create a t-shirt out of the same fabric as the shorts. Later, he improved the t-shirt, building them with microfibers that wicked moisture away. Big brands would hop onto this idea and create theyâre own version of Plankâs moisture wicking products. Today Under armour is the stable brand for all things performance related and continues to reshape the sports landscape by helping young athletes to improve and level up theyâre game.
