Created in Anaheim, California, 1966, Vans have been the go to sneaker and brand on the West Coast since way back when. 1977 Also saw the introduction of the Vans #98, more commonly known as the Vans Slip On. The Vans Sk8-Hi was released a year later in 1978, initially known as the “Style 38,” which showcased the now iconic Vans Sidestripe on yet another innovative silhouette.
1982 saw the introduction of the instantly recognisable checkerboard pattern. This became an icon overnight, and is still regarded as stand out feature of the iconic Vans Silhouette.
