Are you looking for an iconic and distinctive sneaker? Check out the Nike Shox TL here at JD Sports. These shoes were brought to life by Bruce Kilgore, who famously created the Nike Air Force 1. The Shox feature a column-like cushioning system which provides impact absorption and energy return. This can be found all along the bottom of this Nike shoe so you can guarantee a comfortable ride.
On the upper of the Nike Shox TL you’ll find a combination of materials such as mesh, and leather that all come together to provide durability, breathability and support. Overall, the Shox TL is known for its bold, futuristic appearance. This shoe has a distinctive aggressive design, which makes you stand out from the crowd.
Nike Shox History
The concept for the Nike Shox began in the late 80s when the swoosh designers had the idea to create a shoe that provided superior cushioning and energy return. Fast forward to the 90s and Nike began experimenting with various designs and materials, but the Shox concept was fully available and ready. However, in ’97 the Shox finally made its debut as a prototype, which showcased its small springs made from highly resilient foam found on the heel and forefoot of the shoe.
Finally these shoes were released to the public in 2000. The first ever model released was the R4. This model featured four visible foam columns in the heel, providing both cushioning and a unique aesthetic. 3 years later Nike released the Nike Shox TL, a significant evolution of the Shox technology, extending the iconic columns throughout the entire length of the sole.
