When it comes to choosing the right Jordan 1 for your style you can choose between the low top, which is a shoe that doesn’t cover your ankle or a Mid top shoe, which tend to go no higher than your ankle.

Jordan Air 1 History

First released in ’85, the AJ1 was produced specifically for the one and only Michael Jordan. At first MJ didn’t really like the shoe and hated the colours used on the sneaker. It was until Nike considered and presented MJ with his own signature trainer line. Although this was a huge win for Nike at the time this huge collaboration came with a price.

NBA policy states that 51% of the basketball shoe needs to be white. The Air Jordan 1 was only 23%. Taking inspiration from the Chicago Bull’s red and black colour, so they failed to follow this policy. As a result, Nike had to pay $5,000 per game when the GOAT wore them.

Despite all the fines, this resulted in a win for Nike, resulting in lots of publicity and controversy. Taking advantage Nike created a ‘Banned’ Jordan advertisement capitalising on this fame around the shoes. Later, in 1997, MJ and Nike introduced to the world the Jordan brand.
